A tooth implant is a small titanium fixture that functions as a replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. Ultimately the implant acts as an anchor for a dental prosthesis.

An abutment is placed on the top of the dental implant, which connects it to the prosthesis tooth. Then a custom crown, made to look like a natural tooth, covers encircles the dental implant.

Within three to six months, the titanium screw will fuse with your natural bone. This is known as osseointegration. The dental implant becomes permanent in our mouth and looks natural, which is why it is one of treatments to replace a missing tooth.
